Mgr/Sr Mgr-Risk Management Job
Responsibilities:
This global facing position promises a wealth of opportunities to increase your knowledge about American Express Risk processes and system platforms.
As a Capability Architect in the Advanced Risk Capabilities team, you will:
Work closely with US & International Customer Management teams across Consumer Services, OPEN/Small Business Services, Corporate, Collections, and Fraud to garner global alignment of their key business strategies and integrate them with Risk capabilities and platforms.
Serve as subject matter expert on Risk capabilities and translate strategies into clear business needs for SQP project development
Assist in globally prioritizing key foundational projects by articulating the business case against the estimated cost of the project once you acquire high level RIB-T sizing
Secure SQP funding approval and initiate project kick-off in collaboration with RIB-T delivery teams
Own project scope alignment throughout the project life cycle
Be a key contributor to creating blueprints for various Risk platforms
Expert Capability Architects will be presented with opportunities to drive highly innovative initiatives that will give American Express premium competitive advantage.
This role is unique from other Capability Architect roles because it is responsible for globally integrating business strategies with RIB-T capabilities.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have demonstrable knowledge in:
American Express Risk processes and capabilities
SQP project life cycle and Method/1
Project management and business/systems analysis
It is vital that the candidate has a proven track record in:
Developing Winning Strategies
Strong thought leadership and comfortable working with ambiguous problems
Lead crucial discussions, harvest ideas and flesh out options with experts
Driving Results
Hold people accountable to their commitments
A source of motivation for the project team, especially in challenging times
Just-in-time escalation and provide facts to arrive at a decision immediately
Building and Leveraging Relationships
Strong team orientation with ability to collaborate with peers, partners and senior management
Ability to influence others in cross-functional environments with potentially conflicting goals
Communicating Effectively
Articulates and shares information well, and gives equal importance to listening and receiving information
Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
Experience & Education
At least 3 years of project management and/or business analysis experience
PMP certification is a bonus
At least 3 years in a role working with business partners and/or AET teams
Credit Operations know-how is desirable
Technical development and testing skills a plus
Highly proficient in MS Powerpoint, Excel and Sharepoint is beneficial
Practitioner of Six Sigma principles
